If you're an education agency or school, you know how important it is to have an awesome website to engage with students, parents, and the wider community, and of course, to get those leads!

There are loads of cool website tools out there that you can use to offer the ultimate experience to your students. You've got online quoting tools, e-commerce add-ons, live chats, virtual calendars, and even widgets to show off your latest Instagram posts.

But, here's the thing: none of this matters if you don't have anyone visiting your site.

That's why we're here to share some simple tips and tricks to help you boost your website traffic and get your online presence popping!

📋 Table of contents

Content Creation

One of the best ways to drive traffic to your education agency or school website is by creating amazing content that your prospective students will love.

So, if you're not doing it already, start creating blog posts, videos, short ebooks, and infographics on topics that international students are into.

Our tip #1 here would be “focus on quality over quantity”.

Do short initial research, and create a few killer pieces of content that really bring value to your students.

Once you've got your content ready, focus on sharing it like crazy on social media and email newsletters to reach a wider audience.

Optimize for Search Engines (SEO)

Get your website seen by search engines by using relevant keywords, meta descriptions, and title tags in your content. In other words, make Google like you.

Use internal links to help search engines navigate your website and find more awesome content, and build high-quality backlinks to your website from other relevant sites in your niche (international education, government pages, visa information, destination-focused websites…)

If all this sounds new to you, don't worry! There are tons of free marketing courses, blogs, and YouTube videos all over the internet where you can learn more about it.

Social Media

If you want to drive more traffic to your website using social media, it's important to be strategic about where you focus your efforts.

Rather than trying to be on every single platform, focus on the ones where your target audience is most active and engaged.

To identify the best channels for your agency or school, you can check your website analytics to see which social media platforms are already driving the most traffic to your site and start there!

Extra tip! Running social media giveaways is a great way to get more followers and increase your website traffic.

Email Marketing

Does your website offer the option to subscribe to your newsletter? If not, it's a great idea to add one! Just a simple form with a first name and email will do the trick.

This is key to building an email list of your target audience, you can then send them regular newsletters with your content, promotions and updates, with links to your blog and website to drive traffic to your site!

Paid Advertising

Paid advertising can be expensive, but it's a powerful tool to increase your website traffic. You can use various platforms like Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads, Snapchat Ads, Tiktok Ads, or even Pinterest Ads to reach your target audience and drive traffic to your website.

Set clear goals and budgets for your ad campaigns and track your performance to make data-driven decisions. Focus only on the social media channels where your ads are performing best.

So, there you have it! Even though the five tips mentioned above might seem obvious, it's important to get a friendly reminder every now and then to evaluate your efforts and try out some new strategies, so you don't get left behind.

By following these tips and tricks, you can get more students to visit your website and really highlight what makes your education agency or school the perfect choice.

Once you start getting enough traffic on your website, it's time to make sure you're providing the best website experience so that those visitors don't end up leaving.

As we discussed in a previous blog post, with the rise of the internet and digital technologies, students have come to expect information at their fingertips and the same level of convenience when it comes to buying a program at a school or institution.

Make sure that the information you provide is crystal clear (less is more in many cases), your website design is clean and inviting, and that you're giving your students exactly what they're looking for in the easiest way possible.

At Edvisor, we offer various tools that can help you elevate your website game to a new level. Contact your account manager to learn more about these options or, if you're not yet part of the Edvisor family, schedule a demo here!
