The new interactive language tourism experience called English Outdoors includes weekly class field trips to museums, cultural centres, historic neighbourhoods, historical landmarks, and more! Classes are small groups of 8 students, in well-researched locations offering easy access, comfortable seating, and plenty of opportunities to sightsee after class. They are specifically designed to fully immerse students in NYC life and culture, giving students the unique opportunity to practice their English in authentic NYC settings, and live like locals.

By choosing English Outdoors, students can also positively impact the environment, taking advantage of natural sunlight and airflow rather than being inside, making our English language program the most sustainable choice for students. English Outdoors is perfect for students, adults, juniors, and school groups travelling to the USA on a B1/B2 tourist visa or ESTA, who have an interest in combining English lessons and discovering New York City.

Colombians visiting the UK will no longer need a visa

As of November 9th, 2022 Colombians visiting the UK will no longer need a visa. The UK government has announced that it will become more accessible to Colombians pursuing ELT courses and short programs. This announcement marks a big step forward in the UK-Colombia relationship. The UK could see an influx of Colombians who want to discover and enjoy the rich UK culture. The document also states that Guyana and Peru will benefit from the decision and no longer need visitor visas.

These changes mark a significant step forward in the UK-Colombia relationship with the UK opening its doors to new business opportunities in multiple sectors. Furthermore, Colombians who have already applied for a visitor visa to enter the UK but have not yet supplied biometric data, such as fingerprints, can now withdraw their application and request a refund for the visa fee by visiting the government’s website.

Canada lifts working hour restrictions for international students

The Canadian government is addressing acute labour shortages in the country's economy by temporarily lifting a cap on how much off-campus work international students can do during classes. International students will be able to work more than 20 hours off-campus per week starting on November 15th, 2022 through December 31st, 2023.

The restriction lift is an attempt to address Canada’s labour shortages as the country faces its lowest rate of unemployment on record, with nearly one million job vacancies going unfilled. The change to Canada's immigration rules will soon apply, not just to international students currently in the country but to any who have submitted a study application as of October 22nd, 2022 and received approval.

Spain makes it easier for international students to find work

The Spanish government has set new regulations, which were approved in July and came into force on August 15th of 2022, that enable students in higher education to work up to 30 hours per week with a permit. This is an increase from the previous limit of 20 hours per week and with the new regulations, international students can more easily access the labour market after graduation.

Recent changes to immigration rules also remove the requirement for students to prove that they will not depend on job income to support living costs when planning to study in Spain. These make it easier for non-EU students in higher education to work on a student visa without needing to apply for permits, so long as the jobs are compatible with continuing their studies. Foreign students can now also bypass the three-year requirement and remain residents in Spain with a right to work post-graduation.
